Jiu-jitsu and Grappling: US Competitors Finish 1st and 2nd in Black Belt Absolute at Tokyo International

The second day of the Tokyo International Jiu-jitsu Championships, held Nov 28-29, featured the highlight of the tournament, the Black Belt Absolute Division matches. Making it to the finals were Jonathan Torres and Mike Fowler. As both Jonathan and Mike were competing with Team Purebred-Lloyd Irvin, the championship match was not conducted, instead being decided by a coin toss, with Jonathan taking home the gold medal. Tetsuya Kondo of Red Shark Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Japan and Daniel Cherubin of Peter de Been Jiu Jitsu Academy tied for third place.
